Paparazzi Carnival

Who they are

Paparazzi is a large all-inclusive band. In 2022 the Express described it as Roberts Street, Woodbrook-based, and bandleader Tracey Andre described the band's focus as "creating the best experience for the masquerader" rather than trying to outdo anyone else.¹ That 2023 presentation, Breakaway Beats, built 15 sections around past Road March winners, from the Mighty Sparrow to Machel Montano.¹

The band also competes. With Elope: Destination I Do it placed third in the national Large Band of the Year competition for 2026, and third in the Uptown (UCIC) large band judging on 219 points.^2,3

Carnival 2027: Fes

For 2027 Paparazzi heads to Morocco with Fes: Whispers of the Medina, inspired by "the colour, craftsmanship, and hidden beauty" of the ancient city. There are nine sections, from Souk and Saffrah to Nadira, and registration runs through the band's online portal.⁴
