Tobago Carnival 2026: Parade of the Bands

What it is

The Parade of the Bands on Sunday 1 November 2026 is the centrepiece of Tobago Carnival, featuring both traditional and contemporary mas in Scarborough.¹ Tobago Carnival has outgrown its original Crown Point route and now uses several starting points around Scarborough to keep the music and masqueraders flowing.¹

Traditional characters are a big part of the day. Dame Lorraines, jab jabs, moko jumbies and sailors are presented by groups such as Sisters in Culture, Liz Tropical Design, Africa is We, Happy Sailors, Tobago Drama Guild and Mudern Mud, alongside the pretty mas bands.¹ Fog Angels plays Fantasy Island in 2026.²

Tips

• Traditional mas bands and pretty mas bands share the road, so watch from the roadside for a while before you join the jump-up.
• Bring water, sunscreen and comfortable shoes for a long day in the sun.
